The federal government of Nigeria has issued a new directive following the rising cases of positive Covid-19 cases around the world.
Geoffrey Okatubo, Director of Port Health Services, who made the announcement further revealed that there will be heightened surveillance and monitoring at points of entry following the worrying reports in countries like China, Japan and the United States of America.
All international travelers arriving Nigeria are expected to now provide evidence of vaccination before gaining entry into the country. Unvaccinated travelers may be required to get vaccinated at the airport.
The Nigerian center for disease Control together with other stakeholders like the port health services and the ministry of aviation will use rapid diagnostic testing at every point of entry.
All intending travelers are advised to take due notice of this development to ensure no complications.
