John Olutayo Adeniran

John Olutayo Adeniran was born in the year 1965 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Babatunde Adeniran of Ilora town in Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State. 

He had his early primary education at Local Authority Primary School, Ago-Oyo, Oyo state in 1970-1975.  He also attended Baptist Secondary School, Ilora, Oyo State in 1976-1981. He obtained the first degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State in 1994 and later master degree from the University of Ibadan (1998).

John Adeniran joined the Federal Civil Service in 1991 as an Administrative Officer in the Federal Ministry of Education. He rose through the ranks to the present position of Director, Citizenship and Business Department, Ministry of Interior.  He had  previously worked in the Federal Ministry of Education, Federal Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Federal Ministry of Environment, Bureau of Public Service Reforms , etc.

In the course of his career years, he had held a number of positions such as the following:

  • Assistant Secretary to the Planning Committee on National Seminar on Technical and Vocational Education (TVE), July – December, 2000;
  • Secretary, Welfare Sub-Committee on TVE National Seminar – 2000;
  • Assistant Secretary to the Administrative Panel of Inquiry into the Activities of the Governing Council of Kaduna Polytechnic, 29th January – 10th May, 2002;
  • Secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Areas of Mutual Cooperation between the Federal Ministry of Education and the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), 2001-2003;
  • Secretary to the Panel on Allegations of Financial Impropriety against the Principal, Federal Science and Technical College, Awka, Anambra State, 4th – 8th April, 2004;
  • Secretary to the Panel of Investigation at the Federal Science and Technical College, Tungbo, Bayelsa State, 2006;
  • A member of Management Team Secretariat (MTS) in the Federal Ministry of Education from 2006 – 2007;
  • A member of Inter-Ministerial Committee on Federal Government Asset in Lagos, 1998-1999;
  • Assistant Secretary to the Committee on the Development of Framework for the construction of Coastal Highway in the Niger Delta, July – August, 2010;
  • Secretary to the Committee Investigating the Irregularities in the Financial Activities at the National Malaria Control Booster Project, December, 2011 – 14th February, 2012;
  • Representative of the Federal Ministry of Education on the Governing Board of Federal School of Social Works, Eneme, Enugu State; 4th October, 2019;
  • Appointment as a Representative of the Federal Ministry of Education on the Governing Council of the Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, 15th May, 2020;
  • Appointment as a Representative of the Federal Ministry of Education on the Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, Anambra State 19th July, 2021;
  • Appointment as a Secretary of the Visitation Panel to the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, 29th March, 2021;
  • Member, Monitoring and Evaluation Team to Federal Colleges of Education in the North-Central Zone of the country.

John Adeniran is married to Oyeyemi Alice and blessed with four lovely children.
